Over the last 20+ years, we have competed in over 300 races in the DTM alone and are the most successful active DTM team, with over 250 podiums, dozens of individual victories and several driver and constructor titles.
But now we have achieved our greatest victory: We have put a racing car on the road – the ABT XGT*.
Together with our long-standing partner Scherer Sport, we have shared this dream and turned it into reality.
* 5,2 l V10 FSI (gasoline) 470 kW/ 640 hp; Fuel consumption combined in l/100 km: 17,5; CO2-emissions combined in g/km: 394 (WLTP Valiues); CO2 class: G. The figures partly represent prototype vehicles and may differ from the actual specifications of the ABT XGT. The final figures can be found in the configurator at the bottom of this page.
None of our vehicles encapsulates our philosophy "From the racetrack to the road" more readily than the ABT XGT. And no road vehicle embodies our spirit in a comparable way.
After 2 intensive years of meticulous work and several challenges, we have succeeded in what previously seemed unimaginable: 99 masterpieces with the character of a racing car for the road, hand-built – and you can call one of them your own.
Its heritage is unmistakable. Our credo with this vehicle was to incorporate as much racetrack as possible. And we succeeded. The extent of the design challenges, which have definitely exceeded the scope of classic vehicle development, is incredible.

The foundation of the ABT XGT is the Audi R8 LMS GT2. The R8 is the head of the GT family and is at the forefront in terms of engine power and top speed with its 640-HP, (470 kW) V10 engine and was specifically tailored by Audi for "gentleman drivers". Its slimline cockpit, the spectacular air scoop above the roof, its flared side blades and classically curved fenders also have a unique and beguiling effect on everyone. And even the most unmoved will be impressed and feel a shiver run down his spine upon pressing the start button to unleash the XGT’s brachial sound.
And we have maintained all this despite numerous hurdles.
In addition to comprehensive road tests, the ABT XGT has also been extensively tested to meet all the demands on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, the Sachsenring and the Hockenheimring perfectly. Our development drivers were none other than DTM drivers Kevin van der Linde and Ricardo Feller, ABT Motorsport Director Martin Tomczyk and Frank Stippler.
The ABT XGT’s unbridled 5.2-litre V10 engine delivers 640 HP (470 kW)* and has a comparatively light 1,400 kg unladen weight, making it an absolute top athlete in its class. In addition, the exclusive exterior and the incomparable, awe-inspiring sound make it unmistakably clear: This is not a super sports car with a racing look - this is a road-legal racing car.
It even features the steering wheel which was specially made for the race version.

The ABT XGT is and remains an absolute racing machine in every respect. Its exterior, roadholding, steering and acceleration cannot be compared to "normal road vehicles". In every other respect, it is absolutely uncompromising: Acceleration in the two-seater rear-wheel drive car comes from the mostversion of the V10 engine with four valves per cylinder and four overhead camshafts. The 5,204 cubic centimetre engine generates 470 kW (640 HP) at 8,000 rpm and enables a top speed of 310 kilometres per hour.
Both in the interior and technically, the focus is on the essentials. Just holding the impressive racing steering wheel in your hands makes the hearts of true motorsport fans skip a beat. In addition to tyre pressure, speed, fuel consumption and speed, the race display also shows gear selection, transmission, engine oil and cooling water temperature. The control centre in the centre console with main switch and handbrake installed for road approval also instils a pure racing feel.
The 7-speed S-tonic gearbox with paddle shift ensures flawless transmission and the racing suspension with specially manufactured springs provides perfect road holding by means of its 2 adjustment levels, facilitating the perfect setup for every track.
The demands of motorsport and road use are worlds apart. But in two eventful and equally strenuous years, our engineers succeeded in meeting them both, which seemed almost impossible.
All necessary technical adjustments in the areas of thermal management, software and the highly complex vehicle diagnostic system have been carefully implemented to preserve the character of the race car. For everyday usability, the tank system from series production was integrated, the instrument cluster was modified for regular use, and the handbrake, central locking and a rear view camera and immobiliser were incorporated. The control panel has been adapted for road use and features controls for the electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, air conditioning and indicators. The special exhaust system including after treatment components had to meet KBA emission specifications. In addition, the chassis was equipped with ABT suspension springs.
Of course, the focus was also on safety: An XGT complete vehicle was subjected to demanding side and front crash tests, and in elaborate tests all KBA requirements with regard to brakes and loudness were met.
As unique as you are: In addition to the basic colour, choose your preferred accent colour and the appropriate decor.
